La Belle Vie is a 31 sqm duplex at 248 rue de Genève in Gex, renovated in 2021 in a warm industrial style. An offbeat, cosy place, designed for a short stay as a couple or a weekend for 4: 1 bedroom upstairs, double bed + clic-clac sofa-bed on the lounge side (capacity 4 people).

The open kitchen and dining area are at street level; you go down 2 steps to reach the lounge (with its black electric fireplace), the shower room and the separate WC. Then you go up the stairs to reach the bedroom under the eaves.

Who this place is designed for

Capacity 4 people with a 140 cm bed in the bedroom and a clic-clac sofa-bed in the lounge. Profiles we regularly host:

• Couples on a short stay in Geneva / Pays de Gex (market, Divonne, Monts Jura skiing, lake)
• Two friends or a couple with one child on a weekend or short-week getaway
• Business travellers (CERN, international organisations, Palexpo trade shows) who prefer a property with character over a hotel
• Short relocations: arrival in Switzerland, time to drop the bags and start the search for a long-term home

Central Gex: everything within walking distance

248 rue de Genève sits on Gex’s main axis, walking distance from the historic centre. A few minutes on foot:

• Saturday morning market — the big weekly Gex gathering
• Vival mini-market (7/7)
• Butcher, wine merchant, coffee specialist, tobacconist, a few small town-centre shops
• Le Patio arthouse cinema
• Restaurants: traditional French, Italian…
• Beer bar
• Post office, banks, tourist office
• Gex castle and historic centre

For public transport:

• Buses 60 and 61 to Geneva Cornavin station and Geneva-Cointrin airport (one change)
• Line 818 to Divonne-les-Bains, Nyon and Coppet, morning and evening
• Coaches to Bellegarde with connection to the TGV station (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, etc.)

Parking

Free street parking around the property, plus the Jura underground car park a few minutes’ walk away — first 2 hours free, then very reasonable rates — the option chosen by most guests arriving by car.

• Discounts: -5% from 7 nights · -10% from 28 nights · -30% from 42 nights
• Tourist tax: collected automatically on Airbnb and Booking (paid to the CCPG)
