Renovated in 2019 in a contemporary style: Les Terrasses is a 30 sqm apartment at 248 rue de Genève. What makes the address singular is its dual outdoor exposure: two private terraces opening onto the Jura, the greenery and the course of the Journans stream — a rare panorama, in the heart of Gex, walking distance from the shops.

Who this place is designed for

Capacity 4 people with a 140 cm bed in the bedroom and a 140 cm convertible sofa in the lounge. Profiles we regularly host:

The apartment sits on the 1st and top floor under the roof, with a cathedral ceiling.

Open kitchen onto the lounge

You enter on the kitchen side, which occupies the upper level of the apartment: wood worktop, induction hob, built-in oven, microwave, extractor, large fridge, sink. Dining table with 4 bar stools.

Lounge

You go down 2 steps to reach the lounge corner, slightly lower. Cosy atmosphere: flat-screen TV around 40 inches, 140 cm convertible sofa (3rd and 4th sleeping spots). Two French windows open each onto one of the two terraces.

Separate bedroom with a 140 cm bed, bed linen provided.

Opposite the shower room, a small dressing to drop suitcases and personal items.

The two terraces — the property’s standout feature

This is the apartment’s signature and the reason for its name.

A first terrace ~8 sqm: with a beautiful classical-style stone balustrade with small columns — a detail that brings unexpected character to the whole. Grey aluminium table for outdoor meals. Open view onto the Jura and the Journans stream — a panorama that changes with the season and time of day.

Second terrace ~11 sqm: different exposure, accessed from the lounge via the second French window — lets you find shade during summer heatwaves and enjoy the outdoors almost all day. This one is also accessible from the bedroom.

Both terraces overlook greenery and the Jura, with no overlooking neighbours. As soon as the warm days arrive, you live as much outside as inside.

Central Gex: everything within walking distance

248 rue de Genève sits on Gex’s main axis, walking distance from the historic centre. A few minutes on foot:

  • Saturday morning market — the big weekly Gex gathering
  • Vival mini-market (7 days a week)
  • Butcher, wine merchant, coffee specialist, tobacconist, a few small town-centre shops

  • Buses 60 and 61 to Geneva Cornavin station and Geneva-Cointrin airport (one change)
  • Line 818 to Divonne-les-Bains, Nyon and Coppet, morning and evening — useful for cross-border commuters
  • Coaches to Bellegarde with connection to the TGV station (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, etc.)

Gex is the main town of the Pays de Gex: all administrations are on site.

Free street parking around the property, plus the Jura underground car park a few minutes’ walk away — first 2 hours free, then very reasonable rates by the day or week — the option chosen by most guests arriving by car.

  • Discounts: -5% from 7 nights · -10% from 28 nights · -30% from 42 nights
